Introduction
The Loss Table agents structure your cyber loss data into decision-ready insights, with a dedicated agent for each loss category and the option to see where your insurance covers.
Bob Vescio, Chief Innovation Officer of X-Analytics, walks through the Loss Table agents in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox.
What they do
The Loss Table agents are a set of AI agents in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox that structure your cyber loss data into clean, decision-ready insights.
There is a dedicated agent for each loss category, six in all: data breach, ransomware, interruption (denial-of-service), interruption (other), misappropriation of intellectual property, and misappropriation of funds.
Interruption (other) covers events that include malice and human error.
Misappropriation of funds is also known as fund transfer fraud. Every table is scoped to your profile, so you see the ranges that apply to your organization.
How it works
Search "loss table" in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox, open the agent for your loss category, and for each agent, choose one of three ways to look at it:
- Loss table: the probability and severity range, from low to median to high to worst case, for every incident size that applies to your profile.
- Calculate risk: enter an incident size and severity, for example five hundred thousand records at high severity, and receive the joint probability of that event on an annualized basis.
- Incident lookup: after an event, enter what happened and see the full loss range for it, ready for your post-incident communications.
The severity levels map to percentiles: low is the tenth, median the fiftieth, high the ninetieth, and worst case the ninety-seventh, the black swan end of the range. Probability is the annualized chance of the event.
You can also layer in your insurance. Add your policy to a loss table and see where coverage begins and ends, based on retention, exclusions, and limits, along with the share of each incident that transfers to the policy.
It is a clear view of how your coverage lines up with your exposure, useful for evaluating the policy and informing conversations with your broker or carrier.
When you want the data elsewhere, type convert to CSV to download any table for Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
What you walk away with
- The probability and loss range for a cyber event, scoped to your profile.
- A view of where your insurance covers a loss, and how much of an incident transfers.
- A scenario calculator for the probability of a specific incident size and severity.
- A downloadable CSV of any table, ready for Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
Frequently asked questions
What are the X-Analytics Loss Table agents?
They are a set of AI agents in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox that structure your cyber loss data into decision-ready insights, with a dedicated agent for each loss category, scoped to your profile, with the option to layer in your insurance coverage.
Which loss categories do the Loss Table agents cover?
Six agents across four categories: data breach, ransomware, business interruption (denial-of-service and other), and misappropriation (intellectual property and funds).
What do low, median, high, and worst case mean?
They are severity percentiles: low is the tenth percentile, median the fiftieth, high the ninetieth, and worst case the ninety-seventh, which represents a black swan event. Each pairs with an annualized probability.
Can I see where my insurance covers a loss?
Yes. Add your policy to a loss table and the agent shows where coverage begins and ends and how much of each incident transfers, based on your retention, exclusions, and limits. This is informational, to help you understand your coverage relative to your exposure.
