Introduction
Set an objective threat score for any of your ten threat categories by answering two questions, then watch it flow through your profile and exposure.
Bob Vescio, Chief Innovation Officer of X-Analytics, walks through the Cyber Threat Modification & Calibration agent in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox.
What it does
The Cyber Threat Modification & Calibration agent is an AI agent in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox that helps you set an objective threat score for each of your ten threat categories, based on what your organization has actually seen.
Your profile carries a threat position for each of the ten threat categories on a zero-to-ten scale. By default, each one sits at the industry benchmark, which X-Analytics refreshes every month. When you want a category to reflect your own experience rather than the benchmark, this agent gives you an evidence-based way to set it.
How it works
Open the agent and it shows your overall threat condition: your profile's macro threat position next to the industry macro position, and where each of the ten categories currently sits. Pick the category you want to calibrate, and answer two questions:
- Occurrence: when your organization last experienced the threat.
- Varieties: which forms of the threat you have seen, listed from most to least common.
From those answers, the agent calculates a threat score and shows its logic, so the number is transparent and defensible.
Accept it, and the score updates your profile and flows through the model, recalculating your overall exposure.
Move through any category and calibrate it the same way, whenever you want.
What you walk away with
- An objective threat score for any category, grounded in what you have seen.
- A transparent calculation you can explain and defend.
- A profile and exposure that update the moment you accept a score.
- Industry benchmarks, refreshed monthly, as your starting point.
Frequently asked questions
What is the X-Analytics Cyber Threat Modification & Calibration agent?
It is an AI agent in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox that sets an objective threat score for any of your ten threat categories, based on your organization's own experience, and flows the result through your profile and exposure.
How does the agent calculate a threat score?
You answer two questions for the category you are calibrating: when your organization last experienced the threat, and which varieties you have seen. The agent calculates a score on the zero-to-ten scale from those answers and shows the logic behind it.
What sets the starting value for each threat category?
Each of the ten threat categories defaults to its industry benchmark, which X-Analytics refreshes every month. You can calibrate any category to your own experience, and return to the benchmark at any time.
